A native of Murray, Kentucky, Dr. Julia Outland received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Murray State University in 1991. She then attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine earning her DVM in 1995. Upon graduation, Outland moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where she practiced for 16 years. In 2011, she explored new adventures in veterinary medicine and moved to the US Virgin Islands. Living on the tiny island of St. John, she practiced quality medicine with limited availability and resources. This proved to be an invaluable learning experience in her career. In 2014, she relocated to South Florida. Her special interests are dermatology, surgery and geriatric medicine. When not at work, Outland is a mixed-media artist and enjoys gardening, growing orchids, and hanging with her two dogs Gilligan, a mixed breed island rescue, and Lilly her 2-year old Belgian Malanois rescue.
