Meet our Veterinarians and Staff

Stacey Jove, DVM

Dr. Stacey Jove Sloan was born and raised in Miami. She attended Florida State University for her undergraduate degree in biology and graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with a clinical year University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Jove Sloan has structured her career around the importance of preventative medicine and integrative medicine/rehab.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her animals and enjoying the outdoors with her family.

Mario Cabrera, DVM

Dr. Mario Cabrera is a second-generation Veterinarian and has been involved first-hand in every aspect of running a veterinary hospital since an early age. Dr. Cabrera was born in Ciego de Avila, Cuba and moved to Miami, FL at an early age… where he has continued to reside ever since.

Prior to attending veterinary school, he served as a veterinary assistant at his father’s practice in Miami. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Cabrera took over his father’s practice. He devoted much of his time to learning new procedures in endoscopy, laparoscopy, orthopedics and soft tissue surgery.

In 2005 he sold his practice and started his own mobile surgical practice.

Julia Outland, DVM

A native of Murray, Kentucky, Outland received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Murray State University in 1991. She then attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine earning her DVM in 1995. Upon graduation, Outland moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where she practiced for 16 years. In 2011, she explored new adventures in veterinary medicine and moved to the US Virgin Islands. Living on the tiny island of St. John, she practiced quality medicine with limited availability and resources. This proved to be an invaluable learning experience in her career. In 2014, she relocated to South Florida. Her special interests are dermatology, surgery and geriatric medicine. When not at work, Outland is a mixed-media artist and enjoys gardening, growing orchids, and hanging with her two dogs Gilligan, a mixed breed island rescue, and Lilly her 2-year old Belgian Malanois rescue.

Kirsten Young, DVM

Born and raised in Virginia, Dr. Young graduated Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science and Secondary Education Teaching License. Afterwards, Dr. Young lived in England for four years and graduated from Royal Veterinary College.

Dr. Young has dedicated her career to being a General Practice Veterinarian with an interest in internal medicine, surgery, and research.

In her free time, Dr. Young enjoys traveling to different countries, scuba diving, and bungee jumping.
